A Letter from EGBC Family

Dear EmiratesGBC Members and Partners,

In line with our continuous striving to develop and achieve key sustainability objectives in the built environment, we are pleased to launch a capacity-building programme in collaboration with HSBC, training partner Equidem, and knowledge partner Multiplex. This is a crucial training programme for enhancing the built environment in the building construction industry for improving worker welfare, to ensure compliance with the UAE laws and International Labour Organisation (ILO). The program is titled “Responsible Labour Practices, enhancing social wellbeing in the built environment” and it has two streams. The first stream is for key stakeholders aiming to bridge knowledge gaps and improve awareness of socially responsible practices for worker welfare. The second stream focuses on upskilling and developing the workers’ financial wellbeing and resilience. The training starts at 23rd August, make sure you register.

Furthermore, last month we successfully launched the 2021 MENA Green Building Awards, which includes 17 different categories of professional Awards, to showcase exceptional leadership and innovative prowess in the MENA region. Further to our productive partnerships with eight Green Building Councils in the region, the event is endorsed by the World Green Building Council. Make sure that you are signed up for our newsletter to be posted with the Awards news and updates.

Help us step up our offerings this year by taking one of our sponsorship opportunities for the Congress and Awards! Out-of-season storms and record temperatures are proof that climate action is becoming more urgent than ever. If you would like to join hands and help to propel the green building industry forward, contact the EmiratesGBC team at engagement@emiratesgbc.org or call: 04 346 8244.

Sincerely,
Dr. Ali Al Jassem
