A Letter from EGBC Family

Dear Esteemed EmiratesGBC Members,

I would like to extend my heartfelt greetings on the New Hijra Year. May this new chapter bring prosperity, growth, and success to our esteemed organization and its members.

We are proud to announce that the Emirates Green Building Council has received numerous applications for the prestigious awards recognizing outstanding achievements in sustainability. The passion and dedication displayed by our members and the wider community in striving for sustainable practices have been truly remarkable. These applications are a testament to the remarkable work being done to create a greener and more sustainable future for our beloved nation.

Speaking of our members, I am delighted to share that our community has witnessed significant growth. The increasing number of members reflects the collective commitment towards creating a sustainable built environment in the Emirates. It is heartening to witness the continued support and engagement of professionals and organizations alike, who believe in the importance of sustainable practices and the positive impact it has on our society and environment.

During a recent cabinet session, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum confirmed our unwavering commitment to renewable energy by approving the updated national energy strategy. The vision set forth by His Highness aims to triple the contribution of renewable energy within the next seven years. This ambitious goal will be supported by substantial national investments, ranging between 150 to 200 billion Dirhams, strategically directed towards the sector.

This commitment to renewable energy aligns perfectly with the Emirates Green Building Council’s mission to drive sustainable practices across the building and construction industry. We stand resolute in our dedication to supporting and contributing to the realization of these visionary goals set forth by our wise leadership.

Thank you and may this New Hijra Year be filled with prosperity and success for us all.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ali Al Jassim

Chairman, Emirates Green Building Council
