The EmiratesGBC Congress stands as a testament to our collective dedication and commitment to sustainability. This remarkable event, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, exceeded all expectations… The insightful discussions, inspiring keynotes, and valuable networking opportunities left an indelible mark on our journey towards a sustainable future. I extend my deepest gratitude to all our members, partners, and distinguished speakers for their valuable contributions in making the EmiratesGBC Congress a resounding success.

Additionally, I am thrilled to report on the recent workshop held at MENA GBCs. This workshop served as a catalyst for expanding and strengthening the MENA GBCs network, fostering collaboration, and sharing knowledge. Through meaningful interactions and discussions, we have laid the groundwork for enhanced cooperation and collective action towards a more sustainable built environment in the MENA region. Moreover, the workshop provided a platform to highlight the exceptional work we are doing in the region, particularly in relation to the MENA Net Zero Readiness framework. The workshop showcased our progress and achievements, inspiring further collaboration and partnerships.

EmiratesGBC Annual Congress 2023 “Pathway to COP28: The Role of Sustainable Built Environment in Accelerating Climate Action”

The recently concluded 12th Annual Congress of the EmiratesGBC, titled “Pathway to COP28: The Role of Sustainable Built Environment in Accelerating Climate Action,” was a resounding success. Held on June 8th, the congress brought together experts, industry leaders, and stakeholders from around the world to address pressing issues related to climate action and sustainable development. With its four thematic focuses—COP28 prospects and aspirations, transition to net zero, green finance in the built environment, and innovation, technology, and resilience—the congress provided a platform for insightful discussions and knowledge sharing. Attendees were inspired by the depth of expertise, innovative ideas, and practical solutions that were shared during the event. The congress served as a catalyst for collaboration, encouraging stakeholders to work together to accelerate climate action and create a sustainable built environment. MENA GBC Quarterly Meeting

A remarkable gathering of green building councils from the MENA region took place at the impactful GBC Quarterly Meeting held at ICD Brookfield Place. This event served as a dynamic hub for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and collective action among sustainability leaders and professionals. Attendees representing diverse MENA green building councils united to exchange ideas, inspire one another, and drive the sustainable building agenda forward.


MENA Net Zero Readiness Framework Workshop

EmiratesGBC participated in the highly anticipated MENA Net Zero Readiness Framework Q2 Partners Workshop, held at Alif – The Mobility Pavilion in Expo City Dubai alongside other prominent MENA green building councils and regional partner collaborators.

This gathering of like-minded organizations provided a unique opportunity to foster collaboration, share expertise, and collectively drive the transition towards a net zero future in the MENA region.


The Arab Green Summit

EmiratesGBC actively participated in the 2023 edition of The Arab Green Summit, which focused on advancing climate resilience and future sustainability in the MENA region. Our Director, Abdullatif AlBitawi, was invited as a panelist in a thought-provoking discussion titled “Taking MENA Sustainability to New Frontiers.” This engaging panel provided a platform for industry leaders and experts to explore innovative strategies and solutions to address the pressing challenges of climate change and sustainability in the region. Abdullatif shared valuable insights and perspectives, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts and holistic approaches towards achieving the objectives of the Net Zero 2050 initiative. The panel discussion proved to be an inspiring exchange of ideas and a stepping stone towards a greener and more sustainable future for the MENA region.


The Sustainable Transformation MENA summit

Emirates Green Building Councils’ Director Abdullatif AlBitawi contributed as a distinguished panelist in the Sustainable Transformation MENA summit. The panel discussion titled “Decarbonizing construction to help boost a net zero industry” shed light on key aspects of the construction sector’s transition towards sustainability. With a booming economy like the UAE, it was crucial to evaluate the impact of the construction industry on environmental sustainability. The panel explored the role of raw materials in reducing carbon emissions and emphasized the importance of implementing sustainable design and engineering practices to minimize overall carbon footprint


UAE Industrial Symbiosis Symposium online Event

A groundbreaking online event organized by the Climate tech platform, The Surpluss under the title of: “UAE Industrial Symbiosis Symposium” brought together international experts who provided exclusive insights and practical advice to industry professionals, empowering them to strengthen their sustainability agenda. Emirates Green Building Council Director, Abdullatif Al Bitawi, participate as an honorary keynote speaker, shedding light on the crucial topic of circular economy in the built environment.


The UAE France Business Days event organized by the CCI France UAE

The UAE France Business Days event organized by the CCI France UAE is  served as a powerful platform to showcase the unwavering commitment of the French community to the sustainable development objectives of the UAE, particularly within the framework of COP28 and the ESGs. The event brought together diverse industries and experts, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. Emirates Green Building Councils’ as a distinguished speaker, addressing the vital topic of “The hospitality sector and sustainability: Initiatives and call for action.” With a specific focus on the Green EcoLabel in the UAE’s hospitality sector, our Director shared invaluable insights and called for collective action towards sustainable practices. The UAE France Business Days served as a catalyst for driving sustainable development and strengthening partnerships between France and the UAE.

Emirates Green Building Council upcoming exclusive Focus Day, “Health, Wellbeing, and Productivity in Green Offices: Breaking the Space to Factors,” exclusively for our esteemed members! this will be highly anticipated event in July, where we will explore the crucial aspects of creating sustainable and healthy work environments. industry experts and thought leaders will delve into the latest trends, innovative strategies, and best practices that enhance employee wellbeing and productivity in green offices. On June 9th , EmiratesGBC Member Gensler, delivered an insightful technical workshop on Climate Action Through Design.

The workshop was attended by members from various building sectors, the workshop helped us gain a deeper understanding of how environmental concerns can be transformed into opportunities, leading to the creation of sustainable and thriving living spaces that prioritize environmental support.


Step-up on your Personal Branding and Communication Skills Workshop

EmiratesGBC Women Network organized a Training on Stepping-up your Personal Branding and Communication Skills delivered by the amazing and passionate Zai Miztiq! The workshop, held on the 16th of June at the EmiratesGBC Office , was an inspiring and transformative event.

Participants had the opportunity to learn from the amazing Zai Miztiq 🔶, who delivered an engaging session filled with valuable insights and practical strategies. Attendees gained a deeper understanding of personal branding, effective communication, and persuasive techniques to enhance their influence.

Throughout the workshop, Zai Miztiq captivated the audience with her passion and expertise, creating a dynamic learning environment. The attendees actively participated in interactive exercises, fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and growth.


Sustainable Water Management webinar

In celebration of World Environment Day, EmiratesGBC recognized Knowledge Sharing Webinar on “Sustainable Water Management” insightful session led by the Lina Abolail from Polypipe Middle East.

During the webinar we recognise the critical importance of sustainable water management in preserving the health of our planet. By efficiently utilizing water resources, reducing pollution, and promoting conservation, we ensure the protection of ecosystems, support human health, enhance food security, mitigate the impacts of climate change, and foster equitable access to clean water for all.
