A Letter from EGBC Family

Dear EmiratesGBC Members and Partners,

I would like to join in extending my warmest congratulations to all who celebrated Eid Al-Fitr this month. May this joyous occasion bring you and your loved one peace, happiness, and prosperity.

Recently, President Sheikh Mohamed’s statement during a virtual climate event hosted by US President Joe Biden has set the tone for the upcoming COP28 climate summit. He urged nations to move “beyond setting goals to achieving them” and as the host nation for COP28, the UAE is committed to leading by example and getting concrete commitments from nations to turn the tide of climate change.

In line with this, Earth Day was celebrated on April 22nd this year. It is a day for us to reflect on our individual and collective responsibility to protect our planet. As members and partners of EmiratesGBC, we have a shared responsibility to raise awareness and make a positive impact on the environment. Let us commit to taking concrete actions toward creating a more sustainable future.

Furthermore, I would like to remind all our members and partners of the upcoming MENA Green Building Awards. These awards recognize outstanding achievements in sustainable building practices across the Middle East and North Africa region. By participating and showcasing our achievements, we can inspire others and further promote the importance of sustainability in the built environment and continue driving the green building movement forward.

Let us use this opportunity to redouble our efforts and continue to work towards a greener, more sustainable future. Together, we can create a lasting positive impact on our planet. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to a sustainable future.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ali Al Jassim

Chairman
