A Letter from EGBC Family

Dear EGBC Members and Industry Supporters,

The year 2014 has come to an end and EmiratesGBC has proudly delivered value to its members over the past year and has diligently delivered its mission, continuing its journey towards sustainability. We hosted our Annual General Meeting earlier this month wherein EGBC members had the opportunity to express their opinions and provide input for future activities. All comments and suggestions received will be taken into consideration to help bring about positive changes in the Council.

Following the strong response to the first two editions of the EmiratesGBC Awards, the 2015 EGBC Awards will take place in May with four additional sub categories within the Green Building of the Year Award. The awards will highlight and celebrate the best practices in sustainable building, as well as provide a knowledge-sharing platform among the various stakeholders. Nominations are now open and the deadline to submit is 19th February 2015. Visit the Awards website for more information to apply for the next awards.

The EGBC Energy Efficiency Program (EEP) took a big leap recently with its official launch. With the growing interest and demand within the industry for a comprehensive database of energy efficient products and services available in the UAE, the EGBC EEP is well placed to serve the market needs. The EEP Database will bring various benefits to the industry by streamlining the energy efficiency market, unifying key stakeholders and simultaneously boosting company market reach as well as bringing in financial opportunities.

The new year will hold many more positive changes and initiatives from the Council, and I look forward to receiving the support of our members.

I wish you all a happy and most successful 2015.

Best regards,
Saeed Al Abbar
Chairman
