A Letter from EGBC Family

Dear EGBC Members and Industry Supporters,

September has been a busy month for the Council wherein we celebrated World Green Building Week, which included a range of community engagement activities throughout the Emirates. It was pleasing to see the interest in the green building movement shown by the community, particularly amongst the youth, which bodes well for the future of sustainability in the UAE. This month also saw one of the largest events in the real estate calendar, Cityscape Global in Dubai. For those that attended the event, it is clear that Dubai and the UAE is once again on a growth trend and it is vital that we all focus our efforts to ensure that the current wave of projects provide a sustainable legacy that we can all be proud of.

The EmiratesGBC also this month hosted its quarterly board meeting wherein some very exciting new projects for the Council were discussed, which we hope our members and partners can play a driving role in. I have said it numerous times before, but our strength really does lie in our members. The diversity of expertise within the thousands of professionals and subject matter experts that make up our membership complimented by the leadership and innovation of our government and academic partners is truly a strong force to drive the sustainability of our built environment. We always welcome active participation of our members and partners to help us increase the effectiveness of our activities. My message goes to all of you to be a part of this transformation by giving your valuable time, which will benefit the well being of our society and economy. Feel free to call us or send us a mail with a brief background about yourself, your competence and areas of interest and we would be glad to have you on board.

Sincerely,
Saeed Al Abbar
Chairman
