First Annual EGBC Congress Opens Today

Dubai, UAE; November 27, 2012: Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC), an independent forum aimed at conserving the environment by strengthening and promoting green building practices in the UAE, today opened its first Annual Congress at Grand Hyatt Dubai.

His Excellency Saeed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, addressed the audience following the opening remarks by EmiratesGBC Chairman Adnan Sharafi.

Key note presentations were delivered by HE Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality;  Eng, Mohammed Badri, Acting Director General of Emirates Standardization & Metrology Authority; HE Mohamed Al Khadar, Executive Director, Development Review & Estidama of Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council and Jane Henley, the CEO of World Green Building Council.

The first Annual EGBC Congress will continue through November 28 and is held in partnership with Platinum Sponsors Cemex Topmix LLC, Dow Chemical IMEA, Shaw Contract Group, and Trane.
