The Dr. Owainati Student Excellence Award, sponsored by EmiratesGBC Co-Founder Dr. Sadek Owainati, specifically rewards a student from a recognized university in the United Arab Emirates who has conducted exceptional research work in a subject related to green buildings in the Middle East.
Participation to the competition is now closed.
Students will be notified by 30 April 2017 latest whether they have been short-listed or not. The winner will be announced at the MENA Green Building Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner that will take place on 17 May 2017 in Dubai.

- Short-listed: Samia Mhenni – British University in Dubai: “Visual Comfort and Energy Saving Due to Internal Shading in an Office Building in UAE”
The winner of the 2016 Dr. Owainati Student Excellence Award and the two other finalists were recognized and rewarded during the 2016 EmiratesGBC Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner which took place on 18 May 2016 at the Murooj Hotel in Dubai.
