EmiratesGBC’s networking event to highlight role of green building envelopes to promote sustainability

Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC), an independent forum aimed at conserving the environment by strengthening and promoting green building practices in the UAE, will highlight the importance of building envelope systems to promote sustainable built environments, at its regular networking event to be held on May 7, 2013, at Grand Hyatt Dubai from 6.30pm.

Sponsored by Dow Construction Chemical, one of the leading global entities in the construction industry and Caparol,Germany’s number one andEurope’s third largest paint and insulation manufacturer, the event will bring together industry professionals and stakeholders, to provide valuable insights on the need to adapt energy efficient building construction solutions.

Dr. Andreas Kiesewetter, Head of the Building Envelope Systems, DAW, International Business Unit, and Brown Joseph, Technical Development Manager, Dow Construction Chemical, will lead the discussion on implementing sustainable measures that will complement the sustainable development goals of the UAE.

Through the networking event, we are highlighting the effective measures that can be implemented by the construction industry, right from the project planning stage, to promote energy efficiency. The session will particularly focus on the significant role that wall insulation plays in the energy efficiency of buildings; compare various technologies available; and highlight the advantages and best practices of the External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS) in creating perfect building envelopes.

The EmiratesGBC networking event is open to both members and non-members of the Council. Fees to attend the event are AED 50 for members and AED 150 for non-members. Interested participants can email their interest to: events@emiratesgbc.org.
